We're Baaaaack

Why on earth has nearly a month gone by sans blogging? This is supposed to be “A Day In The Dartmouth Life,” not “One Day in a Dartmouth Month.” As eager prospective students or parents of prospective students, you should be outraged. Yet, I don’t doubt that some of you have already formulated reasonable excuses for us, like “They’ve all been watching the world cup day-in and day-out, obsessing over diving Italians and head-butting Frenchmen” or “They’ve been taking full advantage of the steamy, sunny summer weather, going on 100-mile bike rides, swimming under waterfalls, and jumping off bridges, rope swings and roofs into the Connecticut River.” Well, those excuses aren’t entirely false, as you’ll likely hear about in forthcoming posts. But the real reason for our update-less blog is simply much simpler and impressively more impressive.
Ninjas.
If there is one thing we have learned about ninja strikes, it is that they always occur when least expected. Three weeks ago, during the commencement of the Class of 2006, while we gathered on the green to rejoice, disaster inevitably consumed our beloved html, in the first documented ninja-related blog takeover since the one that led to the Enron fiasco of 2001.

But fear not, blog-goers!
Shortly after the ninja takeover, we began planning a strategic counter-attack under the brilliant leadership and never-give-up attitude of Dean Karl Furstenberg. I am proud to report that today, at 12:47pm, we succeeded in retaking control of our beautiful blog. No ninjas were harmed during this struggle, though one stubbed his toe in his escape. We vow, ladies and gents, to do everything in our capacity to improve our ninja-security measures so as to prevent future takeovers. We will never stop fighting to bring you the latest Dartmouth pictures, anecdotes and insights. The ninjas may take our blog, but they’ll never take our freedom.
