Spring Formals
If you are a member of a Greek organization, then one of the best things that you get do to is go to spring formal. It's filled with dancing, great food, and beautiful weather - it's pretty much a perfect evening. If you liked your prom, then you'll love formals - they're essentially the same, except you get to do it once a term. And if you didn't like your prom, well, formals are your chance to do it over and enjoy yourself this time around.
Most houses (including my sorority, Sigma Delta) hold their spring formals at a big farmhouse in Vermont called the Bates Mansion. It's an
amazing place - the innkeepers leave all the rooms in the house wide open so that you can explore them. Upstairs, there's a huge game room with a pool table, ping pong table, and board games - if you want a break from dancing - and downstairs there are several drawing rooms where you can sit and talk, or even play around on the grand piano. My date and I spent a chunk of time just walking around the house - it's absolutely beautiful! The best part is that you're free to do as you please. Whether that's sitting by the pond, exploring the gardens or the house, or dancing the night away, everyone always loves their spring formal.
